Mikulase z Husi Square. Pining lovers were unhappy that there was nowhere to sit, and so forth. But the monastery facing the square also served as a prison. Perhaps they wanted the place to be empty so as to be better able to see if prisoners were trying to escape.

Mikuláše z Husi (Jan Hus) Square with gymnasium (grammar school), Baroque Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, built to support the Counter-Reformation, and Monastery of the Discalced Augustinians. The monastery was closed at the beginning of the 19th century and became a prison. Today it serves as workplace of the Hussite Museum, whose archives are held there.
