1934: Beauty of Tábor region

Kodak Nitrate 64 shots

In 1930 – 1934, Josef jindřich Šechtl prepared a series of hand-colored slides showing the beauty of the Tábor region, most probably under a contract for the Tourist Club of Tábor. Hand-colored 8×8 cm slides were popular from the beginning of the 20th century, especially for presentations showing the attractions of the Czech countryside. Some of these slides have been preserved in the family archive. An additional 242 slides were made available for digitization by Zdeněk Flídr, and Jiří Čikeš donated an extra 36 slides to our museum archive. We are very grateful for these gifts.

For most of these photographs, the original negatives have also been preserved, thus allowing us to make an interesting comparison of the negative itself with the final appearance of the photograph. 1,2 Kalvárie, Miličín, zvětšenina z původního
