Ignác Šechtl and Josef Jindřich Šechtl: Calendar 2013: Title

Market on Žižka Square, with new Savings Bank, built in 1895 on the site of two Renaissance houses that had burned down. Tábor people did not like it, however. It was taller than the Town Hall. In 1914 architect Theodor Petřík suggested reducing the top floor and modifying the façade – no one protested.
Photographed by Ignác Šechtl between 1895 and 1914.
