Ignác Šechtl and Josef Jindřich Šechtl: February

When recollecting childhood people tend to say that everything was bigger, that everything was more plentiful, and so on. But if anyone tells you that the Jordán dam used to be larger, do not believe them. In this old picture it can be seen in the distance across the surface of the Jordán, on whose shore the Sokol swimming centre and swimming pool are missing. And the dam is indeed lower than today. On the other hand ... at that time there were poplars growing alongside. If we take into account the overall appearance of the dam and the trees, then it really used to be larger.
