Josef Jindřich Šechtl: Lime of Liberty in front of the secondary school, 1925

The Lime of Liberty (lípa Svobody) was planted as part of the tree festival of May 14, 1919 in front of the state secondary school (reálka) on what was then called Rieger Square (now Křižík Square). The tree was planted in the presence of pupils and students from local schools, representatives of the town council, associations and companies, and Sokol members and Czech legionnaires.
