On the bank: Dr. Beneš with his wife; Mrs. Benešová, the miller’s wife; in the boat beside her mother Boženka, then the youngest daughter Emilka, Jiřinka, elder sister Jarmilka; the only son Míra, the youngest sibling, is holding the oars. At the end, with the dog, is the son of the miller’s head journeyman.
Communist torture chambers, and Míra too was brought back so they could bury him. He was covered in bruises and had a smashed head. From a letter by Dr. Slavíková.
