This really is Chotoviny Castle, specifically the rear outdoor staircase. The group of people is most likely the household staff. Unfortunately, a more precise date cannot be determined from the details of the photograph. It can only be said that this appearance of the castle is no more recent than 1873–75. In those years extensive reconstruction and additions took place, when a tower and both present-day castle wings (on the right in the photograph) were added to the originally simple building. It is hard to say whether the ivy climbing the walls was planted as a seedling or already mature. If it was planted as a seedling immediately after the reconstruction was completed, its age in the picture, depending on the type (which cannot be determined), would correspond to 3–5 years.
