He arrived for the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the founding of Tábor with his entourage and was enthusiastically welcomed from the boundary of the Tábor district onward. As he entered Tábor, fanfares sounded from Střelnice, and amid joyful cries of acclaim the automobiles stopped on today’s Křižík Square in front of Hotel Nový. The distinguished guests, led by the president, then drove to the town hall, greeted along the way by an enthusiastic crowd. The mayor gave a speech from the town hall balcony to the packed square, and President Masaryk and his daughter Alice greeted the crowd from there.
