On the right in this photograph – right by the corner of the Realschule building – stands a tiny little girl – my grandmother, Růžena née Zemanová (born in 1911), later married Bartoňová.
My grandmother was the daughter of Augustin Zeman – a goldsmith and watchmaker who had a small shop on Pražská Street – for interest I am attaching a photograph of that shop – I just do not know whether it comes from your studio – it is not marked in any way.
At the time from which your photograph of the maneuvers dates, my grandmother lived with her parents in their house opposite Jordán – in the house that also contained the inn “Ve starém ráji”... so it was only a short distance from the place where your photograph was taken.
My grandmother's mother was named Marie, née Pammrová.
In your photograph of the maneuvers, my little grandmother is with her aunt – her mother's sister – Mrs Růžena Pammrová – a seamstress; she is the woman holding the child's hand.
Later my grandmother was married to JUDr. Stanislav Bartoň – a Tábor judicial councillor, and they lived in my grandmother's house Na Parkánech, or rather the address was Hradební 184.
Their daughter Dana, née Bartoňová, is my mother.
The information that this is my grandmother comes from my mother; she said they once had this photograph at home as well.
