Description:: Sokol member Šafránek, 1908–1909.
I would venture to identify him with František Šafránek, a professor at the Pelhřimov grammar school, who was born on 12 September 1855 in Tábor and on 12 September 1877 married Marie Ctiborová, born on 8 May 1869 in Tábor, no. 6. I think his descendants still live in Prague, but I do not yet have a contact.

The portrait shows my relative Vojtěch Šafránek (1870–1938; see the attached photograph of his gravestone in the cemetery in Čekanice), a bookseller and printer from Tábor, no. 1283, virtually your neighbor (see also plates 2629, 1087 and 5821).
