Description:
A small church by the fortified residence of Vítek of Klokoty is mentioned as early as the 13th century. The church was rebuilt several times and is associated with a legend about an apparition of the Virgin Mary. At the beginning of the 17th century the church was purchased by Benedictines from Montserrat, and their superior, Didaco di Convero, began rebuilding it in 1701 into the form in which we find the pilgrimage site today.
