A large Cunard Line emigrant ship is in the outer harbour to the right. It may be the s/s CARPATHIA, which saved the survivors of the TITANIC sunk a year earlier, or one of her fleetmates, s/s PANNONIA, ULTONIA, or SLAVONIA. It is impossible to say from that small scan. Cunard Line ships sailed regularly between Fiume and New York at that time, carrying thousands of emigrants from Eastern Europe who were seeking a better life across the Atlantic Ocean.
