Description:
Tanners.
Digital reproduction from a 13 × 18 cm glass negative, early 20th century.
Tábor was a craft and commercial centre for the wider agricultural area. Tanning was a traditional Tábor craft and gave its name not only to Koželužská Street but also to the part of the town by the river. To this day, people from Tábor are called ‘modropupkáči’ after aprons stained by copper sulfate used for soaking hides.

Year:
Varnishing has been used for collodium wet process negatives (used before the year 1890) but certainly some of later gelatine based negatives are varnished as well (minimally to the year 1901).
