These and similar coats of arms could be found in many Mrzena mills in the Tábor or Bechyně domains. How it began. On 1 March 1783, Jan Vojtěch Mrzena, a citizen of Tábor, bought a mill in Horní Lipovsko on the Vltava, in the Dražice estate. A paper mill stood and operated beside it. After his death, the mill was taken over by Jan Pavel Tomáš.
He was born on 22 March 1757 at the Prádlo mill near Bechyně. On 14 June 1879 he married Terezie Holubová, daughter of the local paper mill. Jan Pavel Tomáš had to pay his siblings their paternal shares. He did not have enough money, so he rented out the mill and moved to the Rozkoš mill. Three sons were born to the couple there in the years 1791–1795. According to Antonín Mrzena's recollections, the miller prospered, but squandered everything on feasts and drinking bouts. According to Antonín Mrzena, he was cheerful but not very prudent, or a fool who did not think things through. His companions convinced him that they would obtain for him a noble predicate after some Doctor Sol from Germany and even drew him a coat of arms. The parish priest also had to take part in the celebration and entered the predicate in the register next to his name and the names of his wife and children. Thus the nobility continued until 19 November 1911, when Karel Mrzena, accountant at the Bílá Husa hotel in Prague, wrote to the Ministry of the Interior in Vienna asking whether he too was allowed to use the noble designation like his relatives. The subsequent investigation lasted until 1917. The result was an order of 15 July 1917 to inspect the registers and delete the predicate. But apparently this was not done thoroughly, because my grandmother and her sister were recorded as noblewomen on their baptismal certificates. Miroslav Mrzena's uncle
