Name:: Farmstead, Kocourkova Lhota
Description:: The villa in Kocourovy Lhotky was built in 1888–1889 in the so-called Heimatstil. Its owners were the wealthy family of Ignác Falta, director of the Martinice estate. After many family tragedies, the Falta family sold the farmstead in 1911 to the Tošer family from the nearby village of Zachotín. The villa stands at the isolated site of Kocourovy Lhotky and was inhabited until 1967. The farmstead had a sad fate: after the Communist takeover, the farmer’s family was driven out and the local collective farm “farmed” the property. After the revolution, the farmstead and fields were returned to the original owner, from whom we bought the farmstead in 2000, and we have been gradually restoring it ever since.
