Description:
The Tismenice stream meets the river Lužnice in Tábor. In former times it flowed through the valley now submerged by the Jordán reservoir. This place has been continually inhabited ever since prehistoric times, thanks to the abundance of water and its convenient location. Due to the clay found there, in the fifteenth century a brick factory was built on the banks of the stream - in sight of the town on a nearby promontory - which provided for the local demand for bricks, tiles and roofing. Photograph, early twentieth century.Published in the book Tábor painted by light 2016
