Komora sports centre was not around at the time this photo was taken, so all we can see instead are young spruce trees and a bare meadow. Sport did already exist, but good working people regarded it as a despicable waste of time that would better be devoted to work, family or the contemplation of God‘s grace. Or, indeed, by planting these spruce trees, which can still be seen at the foot of the housing estate above the river. Naturally they‘ve grown accordingly since then. With high-rises behind them, they watch the athletes and breathe in the smog from the valley…
