Ignác Šechtl and Josef Jindřich Šechtl: October

All the photographers from the Šechtl family liked this place. First heavy cameras were dragged along there, then smaller ones held around the neck. They took pictures of the construction of the railway bridge and Křižík’s power station with such pleasure it was as though both these places had come about just in order to create the rhythmic composition of their photographs. A little later the area became so built up that aerial photos were needed, it seemed, in order to take a good picture, as photographers started climbing up the electricity pylons. For this reason these later images still have a decent energy about them.
