designing this small villa nearby Bechyně Gate in Tábor was perhaps
inspired by the garden city movement promoted by Englishman
Ebenezer Howard, who dreamed of suburban housing in harmony with
nature and available to less affluent residents. But this house was
certainly not for the less wealthy: in 1909 it cost 16,000 crowns,
at a time when the average salary was around 25 crowns per
week…
